Michael Egan began his athletic career as an age-group swimmer at age 4 for the Mission Viejo Nadadores, and has been competing in endurance sports ever since. A competitive swimmer in college, Mike began racing Triathlons as a way to get back into shape, having ballooned up nicely after college to a svelte 220 pounds!
It was after being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2005 that health, wellness, and fitness became the focus of his life. After multiple surgeries and treatment, Mike qualified for the Ironman World Championships, racing in Kailua-Kona in 2007 and 2008.
After the birth of his second daughter, Brynn, in May of 2019 Mike found Zwift as a way to stay fit and immediately fell in love. In December, Mike joined the Indoor Specialist team.
