Tarah Freter

Tarah is a Director of Data Science, a former professional road cyclist and a mom to Madeleine (as in Col de la Madeleine in France) who was born at the end of 2019.

Tarah found cycling after multiple running injuries. She joined the professional ranks in 2017 after numerous Best Amateur Jerseys in the US Pro Tour. Her desire to do more for the sport led her husband, Johnathan, and her to Africa to coach the Rwandan Women’s and Junior’s National Team. Cycling is truly a universal language that brings people together and gives them opportunities, hope and happiness.

Cycling has taught her many life lessons over the years. Being hit by a car while riding and struggling with Graves’ Disease are two life chapters that required her to really grow as a person and practice gratitude and patience. Riding a bike, whether fast or slow, is always a reason to smile!

She enjoys climbing in the French Alpes and the Italian Dolomites. She and Johnathan spent three weeks in Europe riding every mountain they could find and ended the trip riding up all three sides of the Stelvio in one ride.

She only started riding Zwift in November 2020. She immediately fell in the love with being able to push the pedals and be competitive without big sacrifices as mom. It’s been a great way to gain fitness after having a baby and she is excited for what’s to come!
