Polly Mason

Polly is currently living in the city of Norwich in the UK and working in the environment sector, although she has a massive soft spot for Mallorca. Being sporty had always played a big part in her life and the dream of being a track and field athlete took up most of her junior days until uni-life took over and there was more time for other things than sport. Keen to keep up the physical activity, Polly ticked over in the running game.

The year 2013 was the deal breaker when the decision to buy a proper road bike over the more casual town bike with basket, turned the cards. In 2016, after returning to the UK from an impromptu 2 month stay in Indonesia, bikes were back on and Polly joined her first local cycling club. Things escalated quickly, fast group rides turned in to the local club 10, which turned to local road racing, followed by a stab at national series racing in 2019, right up to the present (hopefully) starting her first UCI race in Spain. Polly believes constant Zwift racing has played a big part in gaining the race fitness and really pushing her physical (and mental) limits.

Interesting facts about Polly:

  • Polly was once Norfolk County Champ in the shotput (unbelievable)

  • Attempted Zwift Academy graduation back in 2016 but couldn't handle the heat (literally) having made a very formative ‘pain cave’ in her parents’ spare room featuring closed windows and no fan...

  • Has only recently overcome a fear of going to and ordering a Subway

  • Spent two months surfing in Bali

“Back of the Card” Rider Stats

  • Polly stands 176cm tall and 59kg

  • Considers herself a punchy rider-tries to conserve the energy for those all out 1 min attacks, however is also unlikely to turn down a mountain race

  • Not known for winning the sprint...

  • Fond of Innsbrucking and loves an ascent of Epic KOM
